What is your ultimate dream that you want to create for yourself in connection with its people and the planet?

Is it Fantasy or Reality? Why the difference? What is really stopping you?

    Eco/Hemp Village in Mexico

Mine has to do with the path that i am on, so i think it can become reality if i nudge myself strategically while allowing new doors to open along the way...

I am first generation mexican-american. I love Mexico for many reasons, i expect thos of you that have been there would agree. Anyway, i am allowed to buy property in mexico as a mexican not a foreigner, and own a business, live, whatever. easier access to the well-coveted coastal property. (its going fast!)

I own a hemp business and would love to convert a large area of ag land to grow industrial HEMP, mill it, weave it and sew into phat threadz. Build an eco-factory employing the locals, assuming i do it where them kind of skills exist and could appreciate more-than-fair labor, well-paid jobs.

The factory could be just one part of a small eco-village project using Hemp and sustainable materials and techniques for everything. It'd be self-sustaining and off-grid, with cooperation, creativity, peace and love as its intentions. Open for visitors and gringo friends of course. Y'know tropical paradise!

I see it as a very realistic goal to shoot for in my lifetime, perhaps not THAt far in the future, perhaps starting today, or in a year or two...depends who/what falls into my lap...oh and we have to figure out how to legalize industrial hemp! Here and in Mexico...

MEXICO??? MEXICO???? TAKE ME WITH YOU..............

My dream project is to open up a school for indigenous children in Chiapas and outside Quetzaltenango in Guatemala. I could live down there half the year and the other half of the year in the US raising money. I want to get the kids off the street selling gum and begging all hours of the day and night and get them into school. I would allow them to wear their own clothes (not buy uniforms like the schools down there- most of the Mayan kids can't afford them and don't want to wear them, so they don't go to school at all!), and employ their parents at the schools in different capacities so that they don't have to have their kids working to make ends meet. Anyway, that's an idea.

Either that or somehow become independently wealthy and travel the world.

Or, build a palapa on the beach somewhere and eat pineapple. Love fresh pineapple.

Well i have two. But related. I want to eventually create a course and center called- The Center of Creative Abandon. This program would be the culmination of many interests and modalities. But the primary focus being to assist individuals in breaking down the compartments that most of us exhist within. So through ceative expression one would learn to use life as a creative process of self inquiry and integrate ALL aspects of their lifes work and desire. Not somuch art therapy for treatment- but more a self directed dicipline that is incredibly individual. rooted in visual arts, dance, transpersonal psychology, global spiritual practices and thriving off of personal preferences.

The second is to create an international dance partnership program. (But wouldn't be limited to dance i would hope others to join) The idea is that i would recruit U.S participants for dance workshops outside the U.S. Places like Belize, Thailand, Bali, etc. The tuition that each U.S participant pays would always include a percentage that goes towards scholarships for women in their native country to attend. At first just participation- then as it grows the scholarships would include retreat lodging, meals, childcare, translator services etc. (Though the beauty of dance trancends the language berrier) This idea i think is an incredible asset to the women of both nationalities. The women who receive scholarships can experience a much needed opportunity for self exploration that is rare in the traditional settings. It alo provides both parties to grow from experiencing one anothers culture. Especially for American women to be able to get in touch with the local sisters and their lives while giving support at the same time. For both to appreciate the different rythms and pulse within different lands. I think the program could be a real success and that the partnership scholarships would be an incredibel asset to all U.S particpants. So many trainings to do, much work to accomplish, many people to meet in order to make these goals manifest...
        Cheers to keeping the faith!

          Thanks for your contributions Anahata!

Thats awesome! I agree that we need to start breaking down the walls!! I've always wanted to combine work with play and awareness. Life is a piece of Art, a process of constant creation and mystical unfolding....

One of my other dream projects is to create an int'l Art Exchange program much like the dance program you describe. There is so much raw talent and divine inspiration in other parts of the world, and it gets overlooked and neglected. We are priveleged here and can spare a little bit of sacrifice in order to open up a whole new world for less fortunate (financially speaking) artists.

Poor brown kiddies need help, yes. Aside from the problems you mentioned, we forget that western idea of school leaves out traditional knowledge, so i think thats an important thing to keep in mind. Our schools dont teach our kids practical survival skills and interpersonal relations which are needed in todays world...

if you ever become independently waelthy please call me and invite me over for a pineapple...

Hey alright! Two folks in alignment with me already! Love that. Thanks for the feedback Gustavo. love the idea of the arts exchange. I could see a program like this being super productive for all involved and extend to many branches of creative work and beyond. Like you say much has been overlooked and i think for us Americans to partake in the bounty of our foreign lands that it would enrich our experience to not only connect with locals but to truly give a sense of spirit back to the people- since afterall that is why many of us travel. the rich spirit of those countries. But we only give economy in exhcange and at a high cost to the people. Rarely do Americans look to connect and share on any kind of heart to heart level or they do not know how. When i travel i long to know the people and to see life through their eyes. Ahhhhhhhh... so many lands just waiting. See you all there...
